Why the
Fourth Floor?

The name comes from the lowest point of Rob Kropiwnicki’s life: the fourth floor of Grace Hospital. That’s where God met him.

In Rob’s words
“April Fool’s Day. I was committed to the fourth floor of Grace Hospital. The floor for people who have lost their mind. That is my sobriety date.”
Rob Kropiwnicki
“I did not walk out because I finally became wise. I walked out because Jesus Christ got up from the grave.”
Rob Kropiwnicki
“That is what I needed on the fourth floor. Not more strength. His.”
Rob Kropiwnicki

The quotes above come straight from his testimony outline, April Fool’s Day and Resurrection Sunday. Rob should approve them, and decide how much of the rest of his story to share publicly, before the site goes live.

Why these studies exist

Fourth Floor Studies makes Bible studies for adults, churches, and small groups. They are written for people who have learned the hard way that you rarely fall all at once. It usually happens through small sins that seemed manageable at the time.

The studies read Scripture slowly and honestly, refuse to excuse the sins we’re fond of, and point every week back to the same place: grace that is sufficient for the weak.

The Fourth Floor plate emblem: a brass 4 FLOOR plate inside a round rayed seal
The mark

A brass plate for the fourth floor.

The emblem is an engraved brass floor plate for the fourth floor, set inside a rayed seal. The 4 is built on a Latin cross: its stem and crossbar form the cross, and the diagonal stops short so the cross always stands whole. It marks the floor where grace met weakness.

“Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.”2 Corinthians 12:9
